PDP condemns killing of worker in Wachi | KNO

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the brutal killing of PDP Worker and former Sarpanch Mohammad Ramzan Sheikh of Imamsaheb Wachi in Shopian District and later setting on fire his house by miscreants two days earlier.

In a statement issued here today PDP General Secretaries Qazi Mohammad Afzal & Rafi Ahmad Mir and Srinagar District President Mohammad Khurshid Alam termed this act as unfortunate and inhuman. The leaders said that reoccurrence of such dastardly incidents is unfortunate and these are neither going to solve our problems nor will lead us anywhere. Violence is no solution to problems; it brings only miseries and agony. Killing people on the basis of political ideology is a highly deplorable act and our party condemns it unequivocally, the leaders said. Urging the government to bring to justice those elements who are responsible for such heinous crime including setting on fire of his house after Sheikh’s killing. The leaders while condoling the death of Mohammad Ramzan expressed sympathies with the bereaved family and assured every possible help from the government. Terming Sheikh gentle and dedicated party worker, the leaders said that party fully stands in solidarity with the family and shares their pain at this hour. They urged the government to provide exgratia besides other possible help to family. Meanwhile a condolence meeting was held at party headquarters here under the chairmanship of MLC Mohammad Khurshid Alam in which participants conveyed heartfelt condolences to bereaved family and offered Fateha to departed soul. They urged the government to provided every possible help to the family. Among others who were present include MLA Batmaloo Noor Mohammad Sheikh, State Secretary Ab Hameed Kosheen, zone presidents Mohammad Ashraf Dar, Ali Mohammad Wani, Mohd Shafi Mir, Ab Hameed, Bashir Ahmad, Abul Hassan,Mohamamd Shafi Kundangar & District Secretary Aijaz Ahmad.
